![]() Chip timing will be used at the 25th anniversary of Grandma's Marathon. Balloons mark each mile and times are recorded for 6 hours (until 1:30 p.m.). It begins just outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota and finishes in Duluth’s Canal Park. Grandma's Marathon is a point-to-point course on scenic Old Highway 61 along the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior. Limited to the first 8,500 registered participants. Enthusiastic volunteers, spectators and live entertainers line the streets to cheer runners on as they stride to the finish line. Because of the limited communication coverage on some remote areas of the course, there may be significant delay or no tracking data available. The tracking system enables family and friends to check the progress of participants at numerous checkpoints along the racecourse, including the finish line. To track a runner on race day, people can simply enter the name or bib number of the runner they wish to track.
